Treatments available
Biopolymer removal
We safely remove biopolymers that can cause inflammation, pain or deformity. Before surgery we carry out imaging studies to establish exactly where the infiltrated material is and how far it extends, and to choose the most appropriate technique: open or closed.
The procedure is carried out under general anaesthetic, with a short stay and continuous medical follow-up. Our aim is to restore the health of the tissue, prevent complications and rebuild the natural contour of the affected area, putting safety and the quality of the result first.
Scar revision
We treat visible, contracted or keloid scars with personalised surgical and medical techniques: surgical revision, laser, injections or silicone sheeting.
The procedure is done as a day case, is painless and improves the texture and appearance of the skin, with gradual, natural results.

Skin lesion removal
Skin lesion removal deals both with benign lesions (moles, cysts, lipomas, warts) and with malignant or pre-malignant lesions (melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma).
At ICPM we first carry out a clinical and dermoscopic assessment to establish the type of lesion and the most appropriate treatment. Benign lesions are removed for aesthetic or functional reasons; malignant ones, on medical grounds.
It is day-case surgery, quick and safe, with a good aesthetic result and immediate recovery.
After a caesarean
A caesarean can leave things behind that do not go away with time: a step or “overhang” above the scar, a scar tethered to the deep layer, pain or loss of sensation in the area, separation of the abdominal muscles and, in some cases, a dropped pubic area.
At ICPM they are assessed together, because they almost never appear on their own. What decides the right answer is how much spare skin there is and how far the laxity goes: the ladder runs from treatment that never reaches the operating theatre — massage and a laser protocol for the scar — through scar repair, mini tummy tuck and full tummy tuck, with correction of the pubic area in the same operation where that is needed.
The minimum wait is six months after the caesarean: during that time the abdominal wall is still changing and much of the muscle separation resolves on its own.
