3 sessions of Retibooster facial therapy. An in-clinic retinisation therapy: pure retinol carried in oils, in two steps.
What it involves
Retibooster is Retix.C’s in-clinic retinol therapy, and it is applied in two steps within the same session.
The first is a sterile serum that combines vitamin C with TGF-β2 growth factors, ferulic acid, lactic acid, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide: it prepares the skin and provides the antioxidant and brightening load.
The second is the pure retinol mask, formulated in a base of natural oils stabilised with vitamin E. That oil-based delivery is the key to the protocol: it allows retinol to be used at a professional concentration while keeping it well tolerated, even on reactive skin.
The manufacturer backs the therapy with clinical studies led by Prof Wioletta Barańska-Rybak, of the Medical University of Gdańsk, both on its own and combined with microneedling.
Who it is for
Photoageing, a dull, uneven tone, texture and expression lines. It is suitable for all phototypes, which is one of the things that sets it apart from other retinol protocols.
What a session is like
The skin is cleansed, the booster serum is applied and then the retinol mask, which is left to work. It does not hurt; you feel warmth and tightness. When you leave, the skin is slightly pink.
What to expect
Peeling appears after two or three days and lasts a few more days: that is the retinisation process, and it is what we are looking for. Afterwards the skin looks smoother and brighter. The sessions are spaced about four weeks apart.
What it does NOT do
It is not a deep peel and does not replace a treatment for laxity. It works on skin quality, tone and texture.
When it cannot be done. It is not done during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on irritated skin, with dermatitis or active infection, or after recent isotretinoin. Afterwards, high-factor sunscreen every day.
