Description
6 sessions of body INDIBA (60 min) with pressotherapy (30 min). The radiofrequency works on the tissue and the pressotherapy moves the fluid: 90 minutes per session.
What it involves
INDIBA is a radiofrequency device that works at a fixed frequency of 448 kHz. That figure is not a sales detail: it is what defines the technology. At that frequency the current passes through the tissue, moving ions on both sides of the cell membrane, and the main effect is not thermal but one of exchange.
It works in two modes. The capacitive mode acts on the more superficial, more water-rich tissues—skin, soft muscle—; the resistive mode concentrates on the higher-resistance tissues—tendon, bone, fibrous tissue—and reaches deeper. The practitioner alternates between the two according to the aim.
What is best documented is the increase in local blood flow and temperature, and the effect on drainage and oedema. That is why it is so widely used in physiotherapy and tissue recovery, and why it fits particularly well after surgery.
Pressotherapy is intermittent pneumatic compression: a suit with chambers that inflate in sequence, from distal to proximal, pushing fluid in the direction of venous and lymphatic return. It is the mechanical version of what manual drainage does, and its evidence lies in oedema, venous insufficiency and the prevention of thrombosis.
Combining them is a matter of order: the radiofrequency mobilises the tissue and increases blood flow, and the pressotherapy takes advantage of that to clear the fluid. That is why it comes after, not before.
Who it is for
Marked fluid retention, heavy legs and recovery after body surgery. It is the combination we usually recommend when oedema is the main problem.
What a session is like
First the 60 minutes of INDIBA with the head, then 30 minutes of pressotherapy wearing the suit, lying down. Pressotherapy does not hurt: it feels like a rhythmic squeeze that moves upwards.
What to expect
The feeling of lightness is usually noticeable from the first session. The lasting effect on oedema is built up over the course.
What it does NOT do
It does not slim you or remove fat. Pressotherapy moves fluid, not fatty tissue.
When it cannot be done. It is not used if you have a pacemaker or another implanted electronic device, over metal osteosynthesis hardware depending on the area, during pregnancy, or over an area with thrombosis, active infection or a tumour. We check all of this at the prior assessment. Pressotherapy is not used either if there is acute venous thrombosis, decompensated heart failure or infection in the leg.
What the package includes
