What it does
Oral photoprotection does not replace sunscreen—not by a long way—but it adds where the cream falls short: in the amount that is under-applied, in what is lost to sweat and in the hours when nobody reapplies. In melasma, which is stubborn and recurrent, that difference counts.
Fernblock, the Polypodium leucotomos extract patented by Cantabria Labs, is the ingredient with the most backing in this field: there are published trials on its effect on systemic photoprotection, DNA repair and as an adjuvant in melasma and photodermatoses.
Vitamin C and pomegranate extract provide the antioxidant side, niacinamide works on the pigment pathway and cystine is the sulphur amino acid that is a precursor of glutathione.
The brand reports a 50% reduction in free radicals.
Who it is for
Pigmentation related to sun exposure and prevention of new marks, especially before and during summer. It goes alongside topical treatment and sunscreen; it does not replace them.

How to use it
Two capsules a day, preferably one in the morning and one at night.
Gluten-free and lactose-free. Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
