Description
Retexturising emulsion with retinol and retinal from AllSkin Med. The version of the retinoid line aimed at texture: acne marks, enlarged pores and an uneven surface.
What it does
Retinoids are, by a long way, the active with the most evidence on texture. They normalise keratinocyte differentiation—which refines the stratum corneum and unclogs pores—and stimulate collagen synthesis in the dermis, which is what acts on depressed acne scars, although that takes months.
Retinduo brings together retinol and retinal. Retinal needs only one enzymatic conversion to reach retinoic acid, against retinol’s two, so it acts sooner; retinol then sustains the effect.
Reoxderm is the brand’s own antioxidant blend, and the hydrating and soothing complex cushions the dryness of the first few weeks.
It is worth being realistic about scars: a retinoid improves superficial ones and overall texture. Deep depressed scars need a procedure.
Who it is for
Uneven texture, acne scars and visible pores. The brand aims it at combination to oily skin, which is the difference from the renewal serum (dry skin). Do not use it during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How to use it
Two pumps at night on the clean skin of the face. Start gradually and build up as tolerated. Avoid the eye area and mucous membranes.
Contains vitamin A (a retinoid). It is applied at night, and sun protection is essential during the day. Start twice a week and build up as your skin tolerates it. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding: ask your doctor.
Retinol and exfoliating acids, never on the same night: alternate the nights—together they do not add up, they irritate. And on an open or scabbed wound, no retinol until the skin has closed: on an open wound it delays re-epithelialisation (Hung et al., 1989).
