Description
Post-surgical bra with a built-in chest band. The bra and the stabilising band in a single garment. The clinic’s best seller.
What it is for
After breast augmentation, the implant tends to ride up while the tissue adapts and the pocket takes shape. The chest band sits above the breasts and is what prevents it: it keeps the implant in position until it settles. It is the piece most often forgotten, and the one whose absence shows most.
Here it is built into the bra itself, so there are not two things to put on or two fastenings to line up—no small matter when your arm movement is limited in the first few days.
The bra also supports the weight of the breasts so that they do not pull on the stitches, and it contains the oedema. That is why it is made of cotton, has no underwire—a wire rests right on the inframammary fold, which is where the scar usually is—and has seamless moulded cups.
When to wear it
The usual pattern is to wear it day and night for the first month, taking it off only to shower, and then to keep wearing it during the day for a few more weeks. The band is usually kept on for the same time. This is a guide: your surgeon will set the pattern at your follow-up visit.
What it is like
- Built-in chest band, to stabilise the implants.
- No underwire and no seams in the cups.
- Cotton, breathable.
- 15 sizes: from 85 to 105, cups B, C and D.
Washing and care
By hand or on a delicate cycle, in cold or lukewarm water with mild soap. No bleach, fabric softener, tumble dryer or radiator: heat destroys the elastic, and a garment without elastic no longer compresses. Dry it flat, in the shade. If you are going to wear it 24 hours a day, it is practical to have two.
The size is chosen by measurements, not by the size you wear in clothes. And you measure without pulling the tape tight. If you are between two sizes, tell us before ordering.
Not sure which size to order or how long to wear it? Ask us: the garment and the number of weeks are decided by your surgeon, according to the procedure you have had.
Size guide
For this garment, the underbust measurement is what determines the size.
The size comes from the underbust measurement. The cup comes from a subtraction: the bust measurement at its fullest point, at nipple height, minus the underbust.
| Bust − underbust difference | Cup |
|---|---|
| 14 to 16 cm | B |
| 16 to 18 cm | C |
| 18 to 20 cm | D |
| Size | Underbust | Bust, cup B | Bust, cup C | Bust, cup D |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 85 | 68-72 | 83-87 | 87-90 | 90-93 |
| 90 | 73-77 | 88-92 | 92-95 | 95-98 |
| 95 | 78-82 | 93-97 | 97-100 | 100-103 |
| 100 | 83-87 | 98-102 | 102-105 | 105-108 |
| 105 | 88-92 | 103-107 | 107-110 | 110-113 |
Measurements in centimetres. An example: an underbust of 79 cm and a bust of 96 cm give a 17 cm difference, which makes a 95C.
