Calming, hydrating toner from ZO Skin Health. The step between cleansing and treating: it replenishes water, balances the pH and leaves the skin ready to receive whatever comes next.
What it does
A modern toner is not an astringent. Its job is to give back to the stratum corneum the water that cleansing takes away and to leave the surface slightly damp, which is the state in which the actives that follow are best absorbed.
The blend of humectants—sodium hyaluronate, sodium PCA and panthenol—is the classic one and the one with the most evidence: they draw water from the air and hold it in the epidermis. Panthenol is also a soothing agent with studies on irritated skin.
It also contains witch hazel and a low percentage of glycolic acid, so it adds a touch of very gentle surface renewal.
Who it is for
Dry and sensitive skin, which is how the Spanish portfolio positions it. If your skin is very reactive, bear in mind that the formula contains fragrance.

How to use it
After cleansing, apply with a cotton pad over the face and neck, morning and night. Then the rest of the routine.
If your skin gets irritated easily, try it first on a small area for a few days before extending it to the whole face.
Never on the same night as a retinoid: alternate the nights. Together they do not add up, they irritate.
