Description
Oil-regulating serum with salicylic acid from ZO Skin Health. A very light water gel designed to reduce excess oil without the rebound effect of drying the skin out.
What it does
Salicylic acid is a fat-soluble beta hydroxy acid: unlike AHAs, it gets into the pore—which is full of sebum—and dissolves the plug from within. It is the benchmark active for congested pores and oily skin.
The classic mistake with oily skin is to attack it by drying it out. The skin responds by producing more sebum, and a vicious circle begins. Here the salicylic acid comes in a water-soluble form, together with hydration, to unclog without triggering that response.
The plant extract complex the brand calls Z-SEB³ aims to reduce surface sebum; ZO reports results in unclogging and reduced shine at two weeks in its own study.
Who it is for
Oily or combination skin, enlarged pores and shine by mid-morning. It is fragrance-free and alcohol-free, so it also suits acne-prone skin that is easily irritated too.
Key ingredients
- Water-soluble salicylic acid — a BHA that penetrates the pore and dissolves the sebum plug
- Z-SEB³ (Eugenia uniflora, Syringa vulgaris, Rosa canina) — a plant complex aimed at reducing surface sebum
- ZO-RRS2 — a plant stem cell complex with antioxidant action that calms redness
- ZPOLY — plant polysaccharides that support the protective barrier

How to use it
On clean, dry skin, morning and night. The dropper fills itself when you press it.
Contains salicylic acid (BHA). If you notice dryness or peeling, space out the applications. Do not use it on damaged or irritated skin.
Never on the same night as a retinoid: alternate the nights. Together they do not add up, they irritate.
Size
50 ml.
