Description
Sulphur and clay mask from ZO Skin Health. 10% sulphur on a clay base: it absorbs surface oil and clears the pore. It can be used on the whole face or just on the spot.
What it does
Sulphur has been used in dermatology for more than a century for acne and seborrhoeic dermatitis. It works in two ways: it is keratolytic—it loosens the keratin plug that blocks the pore—and it acts on the skin flora involved in the inflammatory lesion.
Kaolin and bentonite are absorbent clays: they hold surface sebum by capillary action and take debris with them when they are removed. It is a mechanical, immediate and visible effect that does not replace underlying treatment but helps a great deal during breakouts.
Glycerin balances it out: it is the humectant that stops the mask leaving the skin tight.
Who it is for
Oily, congested skin and breakouts. As a spot treatment, on the specific blemish, it works very well the night before an important event.
