Description
Overnight enzymatic peel from ZO Skin Health. An at-home peel that combines enzymes and glycolic acid and does not need rinsing: it goes on at night and is left to work.
What it does
Proteolytic enzymes—papain from papaya, bromelain from pineapple—break the protein bonds that hold dead corneocytes together. It is a selective exfoliation: they act on what is already coming away and not on living tissue, which is why they are gentler than a pure acid.
The glycolic acid adds the classic chemical route and boosts the result on texture and radiance. And the oils—kukui, safflower—and diglycerin replenish the lipids that exfoliation takes away, which is what is usually missing from an at-home peel.
ZO presents it as a booster for its in-clinic treatments: exfoliating first helps whatever comes next to penetrate better.
Who it is for
Dull skin, rough texture, visible signs of photoageing. It is a good first peel for anyone who cannot tolerate acids every day.
Key ingredients
- Papain and bromelain — enzymes that selectively dissolve the bonds between dead cells
- Glycolic acid (AHA) — chemical surface renewal
- Diglycerin, kukui oil and safflower oil — replenish lipids and water after exfoliation
Details from ZO Skin Health’s Spanish portfolio. The full ingredient list (INCI) is the one printed on the pack, and that is the one that counts.
How to use it
Once or twice a week, on clean, dry skin, at night. Leave it on for between 1 and 3 hours. You can rinse it off if you prefer, but there is no need.
Contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). They can increase the skin’s sensitivity to the sun; use sun protection while you use it and for the following week.
New in Spain. A product recently added to the brand’s Spanish catalogue.
Never on the same night as a retinoid: alternate the nights. Together they do not add up, they irritate.
Size
50 ml.
