What it does
Growth factors are the proteins cells use to instruct one another to carry out repairs. The idea of applying them topically is reasonable, and there are studies showing improvements in fine wrinkles and texture, although they are small series and the penetration of such large molecules remains the point of debate.
ZO cites an independent 12-week study with 46 participants and two applications a day, which is the source of the figure “looks 6 years younger at 8 weeks”. It is a manufacturer’s figure based on the participants’ own assessment, and that is how it should be read.
Dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate is one of the family of peptides that act on muscle contraction at surface level, and ZPRO supports the natural replenishment of hyaluronic acid.
Who it is for
Mature skin looking for the next step beyond a daily antioxidant. It is not a first product: it makes sense when sun protection, an antioxidant and a retinoid are already in place.
