Hyaluronic acid and glycan serum from SkinCeuticals. It does not just add hyaluronic acid: it tries to get the skin to make and keep its own.
What it does
Glycosaminoglycans—or glycans—are the complex sugars that give the dermis its ability to hold water and its turgor. The most abundant is hyaluronic acid, and its quantity falls with age: hence the loss of volume and the appearance of wrinkles.
Most hyaluronic acid serums simply supply it from outside, which hydrates the surface and little more. Here there are three fronts: direct supply with three types of hyaluronic acid of different molecular weights at 1.3%; slowing its breakdown with liquorice and purple rice extract—which are also responsible for the formula’s violet colour; and stimulating the skin’s own production with 12% Proxylane and a postbiotic ferment.
The brand reports a 30% increase in skin hyaluronic acid levels and a 28% increase in glycan production, and 24% visible filling of expression lines.
It is also positioned as a complement to injectable fillers: it does not replace them—a filler restores volume in depth and a cream does not reach that far—but it supports the result at the surface.

- Postbiotic ferment 2% — Lactobacillus and soy ferment; for firmness and apparent volume

How to use it
Once or twice a day, 4-6 drops over the forehead, cheeks, chin and neck. In the morning, after your antioxidant serum and before sunscreen.
