Seven girdles, and the difference between them lies in which area they cover and which they leave free. It is not a range of better or worse quality: each procedure needs compression in a different place.
The abdominoplasty ones (women’s and men’s) come up to the bra line and cover the whole back, so they do not leave the roll that forms above short girdles. The liposuction ones come with leggings, and we have them in three lengths—above the knee, below the knee and down to the ankle—depending on how far the treatment has gone. And the buttock fat transfer one is defined by what it does NOT compress: it leaves the buttocks free of pressure while the grafted fat takes, and compresses the abdomen and thighs where it was taken from.
All of them have a urogenital opening with hooks, so you can go to the toilet without taking it off, and several rows of hooks at the front so you can tighten them as the swelling goes down.
Frequently asked questions
Why are there three leg lengths, and which one is right for me?
Because the girdle has to cover the whole treated area: if the treatment reached the knee, short legs leave a step right at the edge. The length is set by your surgery and is stated in your report. If you are not sure, tell us which areas were treated.
Why is the buttock fat transfer girdle different?
Because after fat transfer, the grafted fat needs not to be squashed while it settles. That girdle leaves the buttocks free and compresses the abdomen, saddlebags and thighs. Wearing an ordinary girdle after fat transfer works against the result.
What should I do if it becomes loose once the swelling has gone down?
That is what the rows of hooks are for: you start on the loosest position and gradually tighten it. Several models also accept hook extenders if more room is needed at the start. What you should not do is buy a size smaller “for when the swelling goes down”.
