Description
Depigmenting serum with tranexamic acid and niacinamide from SkinCeuticals. The brand’s everyday dark-spot corrector, designed for the most stubborn hyperpigmentation.
What it does
It tackles dark spots on three fronts at once. Tranexamic acid dampens the signals that switch on melanin production (it is one of the most widely used actives today for spots that keep coming back, such as melasma); niacinamide reduces the transfer of pigment to the visible layers of the skin; and HEPES, a gentle exfoliant, helps renew the surface layer of cells that already carries it.
The brand reports, in a 12-week study, an average improvement of 60% in the appearance of persistent dark spots, 59% in hyperpigmentation and 81% in post-acne marks, plus a second study in darker skin (phototypes V-VI) showing a reduction in post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Who it is for
Persistent dark spots, melasma, the marks left by breakouts and uneven tone, in any skin type, including sensitive skin and darker phototypes. It fits well between peel or IPL sessions, to maintain the result at home. If you are mainly after radiance and antioxidant prevention, Phloretin CF comes one step earlier in the routine.
Key ingredients
- Tranexamic acid 1.8% — dampens the cascade that switches on melanin production; useful for spots that keep coming back
- Niacinamide 5% — vitamin B3: reduces the transfer of pigment to the surface and strengthens the barrier
- HEPES 5% — a gentle exfoliant that helps renew surface cells
Actives according to the manufacturer’s technical data sheet. The full ingredient list (INCI) is the one printed on the pack, and that is the one that counts: it may vary between batches and markets.
How to use it
Morning and evening, 3-5 drops on clean skin, avoiding the eye area. In the morning, after your vitamin C serum and before sunscreen: without daily protection, pigmentation comes back. The brand reports visible improvement from 2 weeks; the result is assessed at 12.
Size
30 ml, with a dropper.
