Description
Brightening moisturiser with azelaic acid and alpha-arbutin from SkinCeuticals. A light, oil-free gel-cream that hydrates while it works on your tone.
What it does
It combines two actives that work on pigmentation in different ways: azelaic acid, which also calms redness and helps regulate oil, and alpha-arbutin, which slows down the enzyme that makes melanin. A complex of botanical extracts rounds off the moisturising and soothing side.
The brand reports, after 12 weeks of use, 20% fewer post-acne marks, 19% smoother rough skin and 28% less surface oil.
Who it is for
Skin with a dull or uneven tone, post-acne marks and a tendency to shine: it is light, oil-free and non-comedogenic. It also works as a moisturiser for sensitive skin with redness. If your main concern is a dark, persistent spot, Discoloration Defense treats it more thoroughly, and the two can be combined.
